Another "Check Your Email" Post

I LOVE THESE. When Byron calls to tell me to check my email I know it's going to be a picture of Nat that will no doubt make me laugh and brighten my day. Nat has stepped up her game of dressing herself to doing her own hair too.

Check out her rockin' the headband.

Lazy Sundays

It's almost cooled off enough in the late afternoon/evening to start laying outside on a blanket and stare up at the sky. Nat loves to watch for airplanes flying over. That's exactly what we did Sunday.

One of my new favorite pictures.

I was somewhat productive this weekend too. I finally got my frames hung in the bedroom. The large blank grey wall is no more, thank goodness, it was driving me crazy. Now I just have to decide which pictures I want to put in the frames.

I also wanted to throw in a little picture of Nat's finished table (or proof it's done). I love the way it turned out. It blends nicely in the living room and she's had a ball painting, playing and eating on it. Take that Pottery Barn :) Table Plans & Chair Plans

Nat insisted on helping Byron cook dinner the other night. Maybe some of his good cooking know-how will rub off on her. Cooking is not my thing, but I'll gladly clean up after them.
First up on the menu, sweet potato fries...one of our favorites!

Independent & Unique

Two words that best describe Nat's wardrobe choices lately. She's become very independent in wanting to dress herself and inevitably, her clothes end up on backwards and/or inside-out. Even though they match here (thanks to a little organizing in her drawers) they often don't. Let's just say she has no problem mix and matching, and while it's cute it makes for a ton of more laundry.

This is actually her 3rd outfit for today, note that it's 10:15 a.m.

The Littlest Lizard

Look what Nat found in her playhouse yesterday...a baby "izard"! She was so funny. She peeked in the window and saw something and immediately started whispering "momma, come here, get it." Naturally I thought she was talking about a spider, which momma doesn't do, and she knows this. I cautiously crept over to the house and to my surprise it was a little baby lizard, not any bigger than my pinky.

Now for the fun part. Heaven forbid we just admire it from afar. Oh no, she wanted to catch it. Now I've already done this once and she wouldn't have anything to do with it afterwards. This time it being a baby, it was easier to catch and we put it in her bug house Grammie had gotten her. She toted that thing around everywhere that afternoon until we went to the park. I told her she had to let it go home to it's Mommy and Daddy. In true Natalie fashion she popped the topped off and dumped the poor thing right where she was standing, waved at it and told it "bye bye baby izard, see you later."

Beatin' the Heat

There's really no excuse for me not blogging for almost a month but I do have a few. It's hotter than Hades outside right now and going outside is just not an option. Even Nat will tell you "it's to hot momma", enough said. The one day it did rain last month we left the lid of her sandbox open and it's been out of commission for some time now. Plus Nat took a week vacation to KY to visit with everyone while Daddy played golf and Mommy worked.

However, things are cooling off (low 90s) and we have snuck outside a few evenings to blow off some steam. First up, Nat in her "moo-moo", it's was a night gown she found in the bags of clothes our neighbors gave us.

She has a love-hate relationship with Mulligan when she's mowing the yard or pushing her baby stroller. He loves to nip at the wheels and while she thinks it's fun to be chased she does not like it when he gets in her way. Which, inevitably, he does. He's 65lbs of solid (somewhat dumb) mass, he can't help it.

Nat also enjoys watering my plants with my watering can. Heaven forbid she use her can that's her size.

She loves posing with her new sunglasses and Bogey.

The sandbox is finally functional again too. It was like she had gotten a brand new toy when we told she could finally play in it.

The many faces of Nat...

Nothing completes a hot summer night more than splashing around in the water.
Gotta clean up some too.
