Flashback Friday

Every once in a while I like to look back on the blog and kinda see how much Nat & H look alike. I don't really see it until I start comparing pictures. Like H's cheeks for instance, you could pack a winters worth of food in them. I don't really remember Nat's being like that, but this pic proves that they kinda were :)

And the looks, both girls can give some good ones THAT I'm sure of!

This is just after both of them turned 2.

Change of Plans

We were suppose to go visit friends this weekend for Byron's birthday but they came down with food poisoning. So that's been pushed back until next weekend. We HAD to get out of the house Saturday though. Off to the Whole Foods Kid's Festival. It was pretty fun. Nat got her face painted, tried her hand at kiddie-corn hole, and decorated cupcakes.

Natalie wanted to be a butterfly, pink, with glitter, of course! Harper looked at the woman like "if you touch my face, all hell will break loose".

We stayed for lunch since they were grilling hotdogs for the kids. But they couldn't wait to eat their cupcakes. Harper was quite entertaining.

Later in the day, we tried to go for walk. When I hear from Natalie "Mom, Harper's in the pool...WITH HER CLOTHES ON"!  I'm sure it won't be the last time. She was just chillin' blowing bubbles and "swimming".

While Byron ran out to Kroger for some last minute dinner supplies the girls were in a really goofy and somewhat friendly mood.

Our First School Picture

Considering she fell out of her chair the day before, I think these turned out super cute. When I asked her why she wasn't smiling she said it was because he kept asking her to do different poses and she was tired of it :)

August Flew By

It's funny how time has slipped away from us these days. Between Natalie starting school and me gearing up for a 2-day craft show, we totally lost the month of August.

To keep the kids entertained on these hot summer days we do lots of painting. Harper insists on doing everything like her sister. If Natalie gets to paint standing up on the "wall", well then, she better get to as well. So we set her up, far away from Nat, and gave her washable paint.

One of Byron's coworkers was having a bounce party for their oldest daughter. Natalie really enjoyed hanging out with Christina during the MS walk back in the Spring and, let's face it, she doesn't need an excuse to go to the bounce house.

This time was probably the first time Harper could actually participate. She didn't really care for most of it. She enjoyed just falling on the pillows and stuff until I hauled her butt up the steps and slid down with her. That's all it took. She wouldn't go by herself so I got the pleasure of carrying her little butt up more times than I care to count. My back was not very happy with me the next morning either. We would get to the bottom and I'd hear "again mommy?" as she leaned over to give me a kiss. She totally knows how to lay it on thick!

Neighborhood Day at the park. More bounce houses!!! These were more Harper's speed.

And of course any opportunity they can get in the water they will. Harper's finally found the courage to go down the slide....sometimes even head first.
